Notes | ||||||
Bock (Tosca) |
According to the 1915 GN Vaulation Records, a new station was built here in 1915 that measured 13'x34'. This was a standard GN portable depot that could be built at Waite Park (boxcar factory) and loaded onto a flatcar and taken to the depot site. Originally called "Tosca," the name was changed to "Bock" in September 1906. Other sources (GN, Station Name Changes Since 1899, published 1940) indicate that the name was changed from Bock Spur to Collier in 1906. The village wasn't incorporated until 1923.
Brickton (Woodcock) |
According to the 1915 GN Vaulation Records, a new station was built here in 1903 and measured only 8'x12'. It was abandoned by the GN in June 1932.
Estesbrook | This station was abandoned by the GN in 1927. According to the book "Minnesota Place Names," "a supply depot of the Great Northern became a ganeral store..."
Johnsondale | ||||||||
Milaca | According to the 1915 GN Vaulation Records, this was the original station here, built in 1882 and remodeled in 1901. It measured 24'x84'.
Pease (Souls Siding) |
This station was built in 1920. Prior to that an 8'x34' boxcar was used as a station here.
Princeton | Before the brick station was built in 1902 by the Great Northern, there was a wooden depot here that was built in 1886. It sat in the same location as the existing 1902 station. When the new station was built in 1902, the old station was moved to the north side of first street in order to continue service until the new building was completed.

Notes About Existing Stations... Longs Siding (Great Northern) - This GN portable depot was built at GN’s Waite Park Shops in 1914 and moved to Long Siding by flatcar. After service it was moved to the Davis Family farm not far from its original location and then to the Mille Lacs County Historical Society in Princeton in November 2016. 1915 GN Vaulation Records confirm the build date and measurements of 12'x34'. |
