Barrett | This station was on the south side of Hawkins Avenue near Front Street. | |||||||
Canestorp | This town no longer exists. It was located near the intersection of CR 1 and Twp. Road 47, west of Elbow Lake. The station was most likely on Manitoba Avenue which paralleled the tracks. There was no station listed for Canestorp in the 1915 GN Valuation Records, so if one existed it was gone by then. | |||||||
Elbow Lake | This is the first-generation Soo station. It was on the east side of Central Avenue. | |||||||
Elbow Lake | This station was alao on the east side of Central Avenue at GPS: 45.990580, -95.976452 at the same site as the previous depot. | |||||||
Elbow Lake | According to the 1915 GN Vaulation Records, a 20'x64' frame combination station was built here in 1887. It was in the vicinity of where Industrial Park Boulevard is today (the street is the old grade). After the station was retired (it was abandoned by the GN in August 1957), it was moved to a farm southwest of town where it eventually collapsed. | |||||||

This station was located on the NW side of the tracks between the northern ends of Leonore (now 122 Avenue) and Elm (now Cherry Key) Streets. According to the 1915 GN Vaulation Records, a 20'x65' frame combination station was built here in 1887. The GN abandoned this station in August 1957. | |||||||
Hereford (Hereford Spur) |
This town is virtually non-existent now. It was located in the northeast corner of North Ottawa Township, south of Mud Lake. The station was on Front Street between Main and East Streets (all now gone). According to the 1915 GN Vaulation Records, a 12'x34' frame combination station was built here in 1906. The GN abandoned this station in June 1949. | |||||||
Hoffman | The depot was on the NW side of Main Avenue (formerly called Lincoln Avenue). | |||||||
Norcross | This older station predated the existing station. | |||||||
norcross | This station's original location was on the SE side of Griswold Avenue. After it went out of service, it was moved to a farm on Route 9, about one mile north of town where it was used for storage. It burned down sometime around 2005-2007. | |||||||
Thorsborg (Thorsburg) |
According to the 1915 GN Vaulation Records, a 20'x65' frame combination station was built here in 1887. Thorsborg was between Elbow Lake and Erdahl. The station banadoned by the GN in July 1949. | |||||||
Wendell | When the tracks went through town (before being rerouted south of town), the station was on the west side of South Main Street at Railway Avenue. The track bed through town is now Soo Avenue. | |||||||
